Basic Information

Name: Ghoma
Age: 4
Height: 6 ilms
Weight: It's rude to ask a slime's weight, you know?

When Ghoma was spawned, he did not have a name. He is a slime, afterall, and slimes cannot speak. He lived out his days in the forests of The Black Shroud, where he and his herd enjoyed a mostly quiet life. There weren't many things in the forest that messed with them. Slimes were weak, pathetic creatures that were barely capable of defending themselves against a light breeze. They had no natural predators, and aside from small insects, had no prey.

In fact, slimes were more of a threat to themselves than a threat to anyone else. Cannibalism, or 'fusion' was a common problem in slime populations. Being a slime meant being born into a highly competitive world where all you knew how to do was consume to survive.

Once the bugs had wisened up and moved their borrows and when the flower fields had run dry, hunger crashed through the herd like a storm. Many members of the herd fused with one another to survive, eventually creating one big superslime that became an actual threat to the integrity of the forest. After all, a bigger slime meant bigger things could be eaten.

The superslime was set as a hunt target for adventurers after it consumed an entire chocobo, and it was taken down in a night. An unfortunate side effect of this was that other members of the herd were eliminated in order to prevent another superslime from being created one day.

Ghoma was the last slime to survive the culling, and only because a certain xaela came to his aid, fighting off the adventurers that killed his friends and family.

She gave him a place to stay and provided him with food that he thought would never run out.

Being taken care of so well changed Ghoma. He was kept well-fed, clean, and happy. And to top it all off, he was given a name.

No longer did he have to fight for survival every day. He had someone that cherished him, and he cherished her (as long as she gave him things to snack on.)
